ABOUT ME

""One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done."

- Marie Curie

I am a first-year Microbiology and Cell Science student on a pre-med track. I am from Jacksonville, Florida and am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Florida. I have always been fascinated by the mechanics of cellular pathways and the many microbes that live amongst us!

  • Research mentor/PI name: Mentor: Dr. Liao

  • Institution and department: College of Medicine, Department of Anatomy & Cell Science

  • Amount of time you have been affiliated with the project: 2 weeks working in the Liao Lab

  • Research focus:

  • The Lab is focused on understanding cell-biological functions of these enzymes in virology, epigenetics and cancer biology, as well as on discovery, characterization, and optimization of novel small-molecule inhibitors of these enzymes for cancer therapy. My role in the lab focuses on using different programs to image and statistically analyze these findings.

  • Project responsibilities:

  • My responsibilities in this project include analyzing the data collected from my PI and mentor and using statistical tests and varying Bioinformatics programs to compare the efficacy of new methods developed. Also, I will be observing the different laboratory methods used to produce the results analyzed.
